Can't Foster? You Can Still Save Kitties - The Cat Uber 🚖🐈‍⬛🚕

Fostering is incredibly rewarding, but it takes a certain kind of person and a very real commitment of time, space, energy, and emotional bandwidth. It isn't for everyone, and that's okay.

The good news? There are a lot of ways to help save cats that don't involve bringing one home. In this series, we'll show you some of the ways you can make a huge difference to Aloha Kitty TNR without becoming a foster.

The Cat Uber - 🚖🐈‍⬛🚕
Transporting cats where they need to go!

Sometimes a cat just needs a ride.

We'd love to build a small group of about half a dozen reliable people we can text when transportation comes up - because often, it comes up last minute.

That might mean:

- Airport pickups or drop-offs 🛫
- Getting a cat or kitten to urgent veterinary care 🏥
- Taking a TNR cat to surgery or back to their colony after surgery 🪤
- Moving cats, supplies, or equipment between locations 📦

Our biggest transportation needs tend to happen during work hours and in the evenings, because many of our core volunteers have full-time jobs.

If you're a military spouse with some flexibility in your schedule, this is a particularly good way to help!

You don't have to foster a cat to help save one. Sometimes you just need a car! Please comment if you are open to helping in this way! 🚗🧡🐾

🧡🐈🐾 WE GOT 'EM! 🐾🐈🧡

If there are two qualities you need to succeed in animal rescue, they are Patience and Perseverance. These qualities are what make Leilani the person people call when an animal is in need! 💪🐾

If you watched our lives from last night, you will know that there was a momma cat and 5 kittens in really rough shape in an area we could not access. If you missed the lives, I have uploaded the videos here! 🎥

Despite asking emergency services for assistance, we were not able to gain access to the area to retrieve them yesterday. But Leilani persisted! She spoke to neighbors and made sure others were aware of the situation and could alert the owner of the property so that we could enter the private area as soon as possible and rescue this little kitty 'ohana. 🧡

This afternoon, we were able to secure momma cat and her 4 babies. Sadly, as we suspected last night, one of the kittens had already succumbed to the hardships of being a kitten born on the streets. 💔🌈

All four babies and momma are now safely with one of our amazing fosters and will be treated for their illness and given lots of love, warm blankets, and yummy food (for momma). When Momma is done nursing, she will receive her sterilization surgery so she never has to be hassled by another Tom cat or birth another litter again. 💕🐈‍⬛

Taking on a momma and baby with medical needs is not cheap. Please consider sending us a one time donation for this incredible rescue, or if you would like to sponsor this litter, send us a DM! You can find our donation link by clicking on to our profile page!

Shout-out to Rebecca for following our advice and reaching out to an expert, and to our friend at Lucky Paws! We could not do this without your kōkua! 🙏🧡🐾

Do you recall a month ago today Leilani went live to say she had just picked up three tiny neonates from our friends at Waipahu Waikele Pet Hospital?

Thanks to our amazing foster, Miyako, they are strong and healthy and so liliʻi you can barely contain yourself looking at them.

PSA Reminder: If you find neonates, and they are warm and in a safe location, LEAVE THEM ALONE!!!! The only reason mama cat is not there is because you are. Walk away! Do not kitnap! It harms them and it harms mama. If you are concerned they have been abandoned, sprinkle flour on the ground around their location, and leave for at least 4-6 hours. Mama's pawprints in the flour will let you know they are cared for. If it has been more than 8 hours, still leave them alone, but reach out to an expert for additional advice! If you find kittens that are cold, if you witness mama deceased, or if the kittens are in an unsafe location (unsafe means they will die if they stay there, not that it is inconvenient if they stay there), remove them from immediate danger and contact an expert. Otherwise, LEAVE THEM ALONE!!!

🌺🐾 ALOHA KITTY’S FUREVER HOME FRIDAY WEEKLY ADOPTION ROUNDUP 🐾🌺
There’s nothing quite like ending the week with a whole lot of HAPPY NEWS! 🥹❤️

The second week of October brought another round of adoptions, with more of our furry felons getting sprung from their foster homes and graduating into their purrmanent packs! Let's see which cats have officially claimed their 'ohanas this week🏡🐱

8. Cole - This super snuggly boy has become fast best friends with his pup brother and loving his new life with his dad! (Did you know several of our foster homes have doggo foster uncles and aunties, so if you are looking for a kitty who is accustom to the company of dogs, we always have several we can recommend!)
9 & 10. Peaches and Joey - This dynamic duo wrestled, pounced and cuddled their way into the hearts of their 'ohana. While the boys might be rough and tumble with each other, they have been sweet and gentle with their kanaka tita! (Did you know we also have several foster homes with young keiki, so if you are looking for a kitty who can handle curious, but gentle, hands, we also have recommendations for those situations!)
11 & 12. Xena and Monica - Our warrior princess and the last of our Friends litter rounded out the whole 90's prime time line up, getting adopted together. These two girls are the perfect compliment to their new big brother - they are teaching him to play while still knowing how to mind their manners when he has had enough! (because of course, almost all of our foster homes have an adult cat or two who have taught our kitties their manners!)

Every cat has a different story, and no two paths to a furever home look exactly alike. Some came to us as tiny babies who needed round-the-clock care, some had medical hurdles to overcome, and others were waiting for someone to finally notice them. This Friday, we're celebrating every single one of them finding their people. 🙌

No matter where they started, they all ended up in the same place:
A HOME OF THEIR OWN. 🏡✨

🐱Tiny cuties, little personalities! 💕

Aloha Kitty recently found adorable kittens in Pearl City, and these little ones are full of personality! 🥹 They’re playful, curious, and just too cute for words.

At just 6 weeks old, they’re still little ones who need some more time in foster care before heading off to their forever homes. 🍼

✨ Pre-adoptions are now open! ✨
You can get a head start on finding your new best friend while these cuties get the care they need. Please keep in mind that kittens this young need a playmate, so unless you have a young kitten at home, if you are considering one, make it two!

Can't Foster? You Can Still Save Kitties - The Trap Spa 🪤🧼🫧

Fostering is incredibly rewarding, but it takes a certain kind of person, and a very real commitment of time, space, energy, and emotional bandwidth. It isn't for everyone, and that's okay.

The good news? There are a lot of ways to help save cats that don't involve bringing one home. In this series, we'll show you some of the ways you can make a huge difference to Aloha Kitty TNR without becoming a foster.

🪤🧼🫧 The Trap Spa
Trap Cleaning + Storage

If you have space and are willing to go the extra mile, this one could be huge for us.

For the health and safety of the cats, traps have to be thoroughly cleaned between every use.

And when we're trapping 3–5 nights a week, with a limited number of traps, the turnaround can be very fast.

If you have the space to store traps and the willingness to clean them, you could essentially become someone who makes sure our trapping equipment is ready to go when we need it.

It's not glamorous. It may not smell the best! But, it is incredibly useful!
Please DM if you are open to helping in this way!
