From Rock-N-Royal raising money for good with Hopkins Education Foundation to some family and neighbor time outside at “Get out and Grow!” hosted by out district partner and one of my favorite non-profits St. David's Developmental & Therapeutic Services to a pancake fundraiser for Hopkins Volleyball and a close out of the weekend with the mid-autumn festival hosted by our amazing community in Hopkins Public Schools…it’s a great weekend to be a and be a part of the beautiful community! Also- thanks to all of the community businesses who sponsor these events and make them possible! It matters! And also, notice how I’m helping the bunny row?! 😂

Ditto this! Last year Garrido for Hopkins City Council invited me to a fundraiser for Team Tucker Family Foundation which honors the life and legacy of Tucker Helstrom, who was diagnosed with osteosarcoma just before he was 9 and died 8 months later. His light and legacy lives on in “We support families of children who are battling life-threatening diseases by providing personalized experiences and funds that significantly improve their mental health while reducing their financial stress.”

Again this year, I was privileged to gather with other beautiful humans from across our community in support of Team Tucker’s VIPs.

There is something about community coming together to be together and do good together. Yes, we can’t heal or fix everything. But we can care. To quote Tucker’s anthem “Fight Song”: “I might only have one match but I can make an explosion.”

Together we can do and make good. And what good it was to raise over $284,000 together!

With so much gratitude to Hopkins Royals Football for your amazing work in set up and tear down. And to all and our amazing local businesses who generously say yes to our community and kids. Join me in supporting them and giving them our business as we build flourishing and caring communities together.

Today Hopkins Public Schools were closed in to allow for observance of this high holy day for Jewish community members. I love being a part of a district that had made an intentional decision to calendar in a way that honors and embraces the diversity of faiths and traditions of our community. So whether you observe or not, might we take this opportunity to learn and listen so that we might together be and build an even stronger school district and world together. And to all who do observe, I hope this season of reflection and turning may bring you clarity, wisdom, peace, and renewed spirit for the year ahead.

Registration for Winter Warm Wear opens today.

Families can schedule a private appointment to choose available coats, hats, gloves, and mittens for their children. Appointments run from October through March.

Winter Warm Wear is available for children from infants through age 18 who attend school in the Hopkins or Minnetonka School District, or who live in Hopkins, Minnetonka, Excelsior, Shorewood, Deephaven, Greenwood, or Woodland.
