As Hispanic Heritage Month comes to a close, I’m celebrating Rep. Gina Hinojosa!

She came to HD 135 for an education town hall that brought out 350+ neighbors ready to fight for our public schools.

Gina could make history as Texas’ FIRST Latina governor, and she’s putting public education front and center.

As my friend Representative Ramon Romero, Jr. says, we’d better get used to calling her Gobernadora!

UNION STRONG in HD 135!

Proud to hit the doors with our brothers and sisters from IUPAT District Council 10! We had a great time connecting with neighbors about fully funding public education, lowering everyday costs, and building a brighter future for Texas.

Organized labor knows what it means to show up, stand together, and fight for working families.

Grateful for the energy, solidarity, and hard work of District Council 10. We’re building a movement FOR US, one door at a time!

We were OUTSIDE for National Night Out!

NINE stops across HD 135, and the energy was absolutely incredible! From catching up with longtime neighbors to meeting new faces, the conversations, laughter, and community spirit made every stop special!

Nights like this remind me why I love calling this community home. Thank you to everyone who welcomed us with open arms!

The energy is REAL, the momentum is building, and November is NEAR!

Busy weekend across our community!

Joined Team Lesley for a block walk to talk with neighbors about the affordability crisis, caught up with friends at Katy Pride, stopped by CyFest at Lone Star College, and ended the weekend proud as my little sister accepted the Community Impact Award from Run Sister Run on my behalf.

From the doors to community events, there’s nothing like showing up, listening, and celebrating the people who make our community special. November is near!

“If you want to feel excited about Houston, talk to Odus Evbagharu.”

I’m incredibly honored to earn the Houston Chronicle Editorial Board’s endorsement for State Representative, HD 135.

Houston and Cy-Fair gave my family a home, an education, and an opportunity to dream big. Now I’m running to give back, bring that same optimism to Austin, and future-proof Texas for the generations coming behind us.

All gas, no brakes. November is near!

TODAY IS THE LAST DAY TO REGISTER TO VOTE!

If you want your voice heard in the November election, don’t wait another minute. Make sure you’re registered and ready to vote!

Harris County voters: visit HarrisVotes.com to check your registration status and find out how to register.
Call your family. Text your friends. Check on your neighbors. Let’s make sure EVERYONE is ready to make their voice heard.

The deadline is TODAY, October 5!

10/04/2026

Starting today, October 1, important changes to SNAP are taking effect, and I want Texas families to understand what these changes could mean for their households.

While some families may see an increase in their maximum monthly benefit, new federal requirements may also impact eligibility for certain adults and families. That is why it is so important to stay informed, review your notices, and make sure your information is up to date.

I have spent my career fighting for working families, seniors, children, and our most vulnerable neighbors. That work does not stop today. I will continue making sure our community has the information and resources needed to navigate these changes.

When policies change, families should not be left guessing. Stay informed, stay prepared, and know that I will keep fighting for you.

It’s KNOCKTOBER!

Now is the time to hit the doors, talk to our neighbors, and GET OUT THE VOTE! Join us as we knock across HD 135 and Texas to make sure folks have a plan to vote.

Early Vote: Oct. 19–30
Election Day: Nov. 3

And when you vote, don’t stop halfway. Vote the FULL ballot, top to bottom!

See you at the doors! Let’s finish strong!
