“Texas is where you will see whether the reckoning has started. Texas might be bluer than it looks, but the Republicans who run it have finally, after thirty-four unbroken years, produced enough failure to be noticed by people who were not looking. And if Texas does turn blue this cycle, there is a very real chance it will, eventually, make it impossible for a Republican to become president for more than a generation, and maybe longer.”
