Closing arguments will be live-streamed today, Wednesday, October 22nd in Trial #17 of the year for the 487th! Closing arguments start at approximately 8:30 AM, with Yessica Cardenas & Twaynette Wallace for the State, and Alexandra Tijerina, Chris Henderson, & Audris Ponce for the accused. Yes, we know it’s officially Fall, but in the 487th, we can’t help but to reminisce about the summer. This summer, we had 3 special interns in the 487th who kept us all in order while sprinkling a bit of extra joy in the court. The seeds we plant in our children today will yield the harvest of tomorrow. These three are proof that our future is bright!
IRL, when the jury is in deliberations, I go for a walk to get nourishment, some sun, and to connect to the community. This is a gentle reminder that in all the busyness, take care of yourself and …breathe.

People always ask me how I deal with hearing such challenging cases everyday? It’s because jurors who sacrifice their time to serve as jury members are constant reminders of the overwhelming goodness in our community. One juror was kind enough to bake the 487th Court team banana bread!!! This is who we are! This is Harris County!
