Moore Nature Sanctuary in West Houston is a 17.5 acre wooded sanctuary along Rummel Creek with a restored log cabin that houses a variety of education programs reaching out into Houston and surrounding areas. Our automatic gate currently opens at 7:00 AM and closes at 7:00 PM (9:00 PM in summer), and birders are welcome. History

More tree work in the sanctuary today. Red Oaks are dieing fast in the drought, and we are working at removing ones that are a danger to our neighbors and visitors.
The recent rains have really awoken life in the sanctuary; flowers, birds, bugs and fish. Come take a walk and see what you can!
