Did you know that Baytown Animal Services has a Community Cat Program(CCP)?
Do you see unowned outdoor, stray, or feral cats in your neighborhood? Our Community Cat Program is here to help reduce the population of stray cats through TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return).
Instead of ineffective removal—which only leaves room for new cats to move in—TNR humanely sterilizes, vaccinates, and returns outdoor cats to their established territory.
What is included with our program at no charge?
• Spay or neuter surgery
• Rabies and FVRCP vaccinations
• Universal ear-tipping (to easily identify fixed community cats)
How it works:
1. Submit a Request: Fill out our Stray Cat Survey in person at Baytown Animal Services or give us a call at 281-422-7600 option 3.
2. Set an Appointment: Once an appointment becomes available, a member of our CCP team will contact you about setting humane traps to catch the cats. Please note, we have a substantial wait list and you will be contacted once an appointment becomes available.
3. Return: Once sterilized, a member of our CCP team will safely release the cats in the same area where they were trapped
Note: This program is strictly for unowned, free-roaming community/feral cats, not pet cats. All cats must be returned to their outdoor location after recovery.
