Did you know that the METRO Police Department has launched a device that supports real-time translation? The device, which has been integrated into officers’ body-worn cameras, provides instant translation capabilities and supports more than 50 languages, with more on the way.

The tool helps officers communicate more effectively with Houston’s diverse communities while continuing to serve the region 24/7.

METRO Police are expanding the ways they can serve customers and communities across the METRO service area. 🚓

The new Mobile Operations Command Center (MOCC) gives MPD a flexible way to bring officers, services and support closer to where they’re needed, including meeting with the public, taking reports and providing assistance.

📍 First stop: Moody Park in Northside

For its first activation, MPD is partnering with Mayor John Whitmire and Harris County Precinct 2 Commissioner Adrian Garcia. The MOCC will later move to other locations based on transit and community needs.

Infrastructure doesn’t just provide smoother rides; they change the lives of businesses in the community.

For Michael Butler, property manager Highland Village Shopping Center, METRO’s infrastructure project for Route 82 on Westheimer was daunting. But through clear communication, an accommodating schedule and healthy collaboration, the project was able to conclude with success.

🚧 Heads up, METRO riders!

Starting Oct. 9, TxDOT will close the Central Business District (C*D) ramp as part of the I-10 White Oak Bayou project. The closure will impact some bus routes, but METRO is making adjustments to help customers get where they need to go. 🚌

Customers traveling in this area should plan for 15–30 minutes of additional travel time, especially during peak commute hours. METRO will monitor traffic and adjust service as needed throughout the closure.
