Fresh Start may begin with individuals seeking a clean slate, but the impact reaches beyond the people served. It offers us a fresh perspective, too.

Through the Harris County Fresh Start Record Screening and Sealing Program, residents gain a behind-the-scenes look at the work judges do beyond the courtroom and the meaningful role our courts can play in creating opportunities for a second chance.

Since its inception, Fresh Start has helped more than 4,000 individuals seal their criminal records over the last five years, reducing barriers to employment and other opportunities.

Huge thanks to Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett for shining a light on down-ballot candidates. The truth is, the further down the ballot a candidate is, the closer they are to home.

With over 80 judges on the ballot, I understand how that could be intimidating for even the most seasoned voter, but I urge you to do exactly what the Congresswoman said: vote ALL the way DOWN.

Over 100,000 Harris County voters cast their ballots in the November 3 General Election. But here’s the thing: Dallas County is not too far behind.

One of the most rewarding parts of my work as a judge is having the opportunity to swear in new lawyers as they begin their legal careers. It is a privilege to witness this milestone and to reflect on the responsibility that comes with the oath they take: to uphold the Constitution, honor the rule of law, and serve their clients and communities with integrity.

I look forward to seeing the impact they'll will make in our legal community and beyond.

I want to extend an immense thank you to The Luke Church for inviting me to speak at their November 3rd General Election Candidate Forum.

The race I am running is about providing thoughtful, fair, and impartial justice, ensuring accountability, and building trust in our judicial system. It is about making sure every person who enters my courtroom is treated with dignity, heard with respect, and afforded the fairness the law demands.
