⚠️Do you really know how deep the water is? Flooding is difficult to see during the day and impossible to see at night.
- 6 inches of fast moving-water can knock over AND carry away an adult.
- 12 inches of fast-moving water can carry away a small car
- 18 to 24 inches of fast-moving water can carry away most large SUVs, vans and trucks.
Don't risk driving if roads look flooded today and tomorrow. Stay up-to-date with Pearland specific alerts by txting PLTXALERTS to 888777.

Dawson High School Graduation Update #1
🎓The Glenda Dawson High School graduation ceremony remains scheduled to begin on time this evening at Pearland ISD Stadium.
🦅We are excited to celebrate our graduates. Please note that rain alone may not delay the ceremony. Guests may bring umbrellas into the stadium; however, umbrellas should not be used during the ceremony as they may block the view of others. Temporary delays may occur if lightning or other threatening weather develops. In the event of lightning, the ceremony will be paused, and the field will clear for a minimum of 30 minutes in accordance with safety protocols.
⚠️Pearland ISD has established weather safety and shelter procedures should a temporary delay become necessary:
• Graduates will be moved to designated indoor shelter areas and supervised by staff.
• Guests may be asked to temporarily vacate stadium seating until conditions are safe to resume. Designated shelter areas will be available for guests who do not have vehicles on site.
• Official updates will be communicated through the stadium PA system and official Pearland ISD communication channels.
🅿️Parking and traffic are expected to be heavy, so we encourage families to arrive early and allow extra travel time. For parking maps, shuttle information, and additional graduation details, please visit our: https://www.pearlandisd.org/parents/graduation-2026
🎓🦅👏We appreciate your flexibility, patience, and cooperation as we work to safely celebrate the Dawson High School Class of 2026. We look forward to honoring our graduates this evening.
