I like so many others am impacted by the loss of the great U.S. Congresswoman Shelia Jackson Lee, she fought for the 3rd Ward Community and Jack Yates High School. In 2017, she presented me with the Humanities Texas "Outstanding Teaching of the Humanities Award". This special moment I will forever cherish.
