Earlier this month, I attended the Conference for Urban Counties (CUC) for their annual educational event that provides hours of continuing education required by state statute. Their informational piece included a feature in our own West Pearland Library, as well as Brazoria County’s Precinct 4 Building. We also heard regarding federal representatives and their priorities.

The CUC supports and coordinates communications among member counties, studies policies and programs of the State of Texas that affect urban counties, advocates county issues, primarily at the state level, and provides training and education programs appropriate for urban county officials. All which benefit of the good folks of Texas.

The Pearland Chamber of Commerce hosted their monthly luncheon featuring the Mayoral Conversation with the Honorable Kevin Cole and Mayor Quentin Wiltz yesterday. Thank you Kelsey Seybold for hosting Team Adams and sharing good conversations amongst our table.

Congratulations to Chief Johnny Spires on his upcoming Retirement! I’m grateful for your 36 years of service to the city of Pearland, of which, 9 of those years you have served as Chief. Thank you for your partnership!

During the Bay Area Houston Transportation Partnership - BayTran’ State of the Counties, I had the privilege of introducing Brazoria County’s own County Judge Matt Sebesta. Thank you DCCM for the kind invitation and all of the mobility partners that help transportation keep moving whether it be roads, ports, or air!

Serving on the Pearland Neighborhood Center’s Board has been an honor and contributing to the Annual Crawfish Festival is an opportunity to raise awareness of the organization. Thank you to all the volunteers, fellow board members, sponsors, and attendees that helped make this event a success. The funds raised will continue to help me our community resilient!

This Law Enforcement Appreciation week, I was humbled to participate in the Brazoria County Sheriff's Office’s Fallen Memorial Ceremony. Each Police Department / Law Enforcement Agency in Brazoria County read out their fallen officer’s name as a tribute during the solemn ceremony.
