As we close out the last day of the 2025–2026 school year, I want to take a moment to recognize and thank our incredible Raptor Morning News Crew! 🦖💜💚
These students have helped start our campus off on a positive note each and every day—spreading joy, sharing important information, and bringing so much energy to our mornings. I am so incredibly proud of their hard work and the love they poured into our daily news segments.
It has been such a joy watching each student grow in confidence as they learned the many roles and responsibilities that go into running our morning news. From anchors to tech crew, every single member played an important part in making our program a success.
To our current 5th graders—congratulations! 🎓 I am so proud of you and cannot wait to see all the amazing things you will accomplish in 6th grade.
And a big welcome to our newest News Crew members who had the opportunity to sit in and learn from our current team—we are so excited to have you join the Raptor Morning News Crew next year! 🦖💜💚🎥

HUGE shout‑out to our incredible Raptor Comic Club students! 🦖💥
I am SO proud of the creativity, effort, and problem‑solving they poured into bringing their comic visions to life. Every comic was bursting with imagination—awesome artwork, clever stories, and BIG ideas!
We wrapped up our club with a Comic Book Showcase, where students proudly shared their comic creations with their families. They even went the extra mile by creating eye‑catching banners for their comics and designing wearable buttons to pass out to visitors at their tables—just like real authors and artists! 🤩🎨📖
A huge THANK YOU to our amazing parents for supporting their children every step of the way. Because of you, our students learned new skills and experienced the full bookmaking process from start to finish.
Thank you for showing up, celebrating their hard work, and believing in their creativity. We truly have the BEST families! 💚✨

📚📊 April Library Stats Are In!
As we wrap up Year 2 at the Randle Elementary Library, we’re celebrating so much more than just books!
This school year, our Randle Readers checked out an incredible 11,438 books 🤯✨That’s thousands of stories explored, series devoured, and new favorite books discovered.
We also learned so much through our STEM lessons, hands‑on activities, and library learning experiences.
As the heart of our school, Ms. Lerma is thrilled to have experienced another amazing year in the library, watching curiosity grow, creativity shine, and readers flourish.
Thank you, Randle families and students, for making our library such a joyful place to learn! 💙📖🦖

One of our sweetest first-grade Raptors had the opportunity to hang out with our fifth graders to help present the Raptor Morning News! 🦖📺
Using her hard‑earned Dino Dollars to purchase this special experience in our Raptor Store shows the willingness our students have to take on challenging roles while practicing their public speaking and oral reading skills.
Not only do our student anchors help the campus start the day with a positive attitude while sharing important information, they also demonstrate how hard work and practicing what we learn in the classroom can lead to exciting opportunities across the school day.
We can’t wait to see what our youngest Raptors will accomplish when it’s their turn to shine in fifth grade! ⭐️

🦖✏️ Raptor Comic Club Update!
Our Raptor Comic Club began working on their storyboards as they prepare for their final drafts.
Creators collaborated closely with authors and illustrators to keep their stories on track.
Students developed their own teamwork systems to check their progress—creators drafted ideas, authors edited and revised, illustrators added their artwork, and everything came back to the creator for final approval.
I loved watching students take initiative and create plans that helped their projects run smoothly. I can’t wait to see their visions come to life! 🎨📚

🦖📚 Check out our amazing 3rd grade helper!
She used her hard-earned Dino Dollars to purchase a special “Help the Librarian” pass—and she put it to great use!
Our helper learned how to read CALL numbers on book spines and practiced shelving library books in their correct locations. We love seeing our students build responsibility, confidence, and real-world library skills!
💜🦖 We are so proud of how our Randle Raptors are eager, excited, and always ready to lend a helping hand!

📚🧩 Spring Book Festival Highlight! 🧩📚
Our Randle Spring Book Festival Rubik’s Cube participants earned a special lunch with Ms. Lerma today! We enjoyed a delicious meal while watching the 2025 Speedcubing Championship together.
So proud of our Raptors for embracing the book experience and showing that literacy, learning, and fun go hand in hand. ✨

🦖📚 Yesterday, our Raptor Comic Club held its second meeting, and it was a blast! We kicked things off by learning about Jerry Craft, author and illustrator of the #1 New York Times bestseller New Kid.
Students explored the key components of a story—character, setting, problem, and solution.
Ms. Lerma presented a problem and solution, and students brainstormed the events that could happen in between to move the story forward. Together, we rearranged those events to bring the story to life, essentially creating a storyboard.
Students then broke into groups to create their own characters, settings, problems, and solutions and began building storyboards for their original comics.
Watching them collaborate, think creatively, and work through the process was amazing! I can’t wait until our next meeting to see how their stories continue to grow as they move into their rough drafts. ✏️🎨📖

📚 Check out our library stats for March! Even with a week off for Spring Break, our students were loving checking out books. Dog Man led the pack as the most‑circulated character this month 🐶📖
Shout‑out to 2nd grade for topping the chart with the most library visits, and a big congratulations to Ms. Orellana’s class for being the most‑visited homeroom! Way to go, readers! 🎉
