It was a distinct pleasure to be in attendance at the Clear Lake Area Chamber of Commerce Luncheon, which honored the sacrifices and achievements of Military Veterans and First Responders.

A notable highlight of the event was the presence of our guest of honor and speaker, Fred Wallace Haise Jr., a highly decorated American former NASA astronaut, engineer, fighter pilot with the U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Air Force, and test pilot. As the last surviving crew member of Apollo 13 and the last surviving Apollo astronaut to fly to the moon without landing, his participation added depth and significance to the occasion.
