Our next 2026 Seniors spotlight is Matthew Cunningham.
Matthew plays the Trumpet. He plans to attend UTI Automotive School.
His favorite show was Raven and the Fire Bird and his favorite piece played was At the Movies with Hans Zimmer. His favorite memory is going to State.
His advice to new members is: "Enjoy it while it lasts".

Our next 2026 Seniors spotlight is Frank Zhang.
Frank plays the French horn. He plans to go to Texas A&M to study Electrical Engineering.
His favorite show was Somewhere Only We Know and his favorite piece played was Shostakovich's Symphony No. 5 Finale. His favorite memory is the Midwest trip.
His advice to new members is: "Always try your best".

Continuing with the 2026 Senior spotlights, our next Senior is Valentina Ortiz Pinzon.
Valentina plays the Mellophone and French Horn. She plans to become an Ultrasound Specialist / Sonographer.
Her favorite show was Raven and the Fire Bird and her favorite piece played was Vertigo Part 3 music. Her favorite memory are the late-night bus rides after a football game.
Her advice to new members is: "Don’t think about who you can beat, just think about how you can improve yourself and be successful.".

Our next 2026 Seniors spotlight is Kaki Lin.
Kaki plays the Oboe and the Saxophone. She plans to major in Psychology and later become a Dermatologist.
Her favorite show was Raven and the Fire Bird and her favorite piece played was Helios: A Dawn of a New Day. Her favorite memory is marching in the Area finals during Raven and the Firebird.
Her advice to new members is: "Be social and make friends! You might find some of your closest friends here :)".

Claire plays the French Horn and the Mellophone. She plans to attend the University of Oklahoma and major in Elementary Education.
Her favorite show was Raven and the Fire Bird and her favorite piece played was Symphonic Dances. Her favorite memory is going to State with her sister as Drum Major.
Her advice to new members is: "Do it for the tan!"

Continuing with the 2026 Senior spotlights, our next Senior is Vikki Shi.
Vikki plays the Oboe and she plans to study Animal Science at Colorado State University with plans to become a Vet.
Her favorite show was Raven and the Fire Bird and her favorite piece played was Danzon No.2. Her favorite memory is making it to the State Marching Contest in her sophomore year and going to Chicago for Midwest.
Her advice to new members is: "live in the moment, enjoy every moment and take every chance you get to try everything! 4 years go by faster than you think. Go to all the events, volunteer for everything, try out for all the things - you'll never know if you never try, maybe you'll get lucky :)".

Hey Band!
Be sure to get your tickets to the OTHS Night of Jazz this Saturday! There’s going to be great food and music so you won’t want to miss out!
⏰: Saturday April 18th, 6:00 - 8:00 PM
📍: OTHS Main Commons
Featuring TJH and OTHS Jazz ensembles
We will be serving barbecue featuring pulled pork smoked by Mr. Loveless and Mr. Bond, also we will have beef sausage, baked potatoes, a bunch of great side dishes and lots of desserts!
Bake Off Competition and Donations!
We are accepting dessert entries into the jazz festival. Show off your baking skills and donate your dessert today! Entries will be judged by 3rd party judges. Multiple prizes will be awarded. Please make sure your dessert serves at least 16 (cakes can be thinly sliced).
If you would also just like to donate some desserts (even store-bought), you would be greatly appreciated.

Our next 2026 Seniors spotlight is Dominique Banfield.
Dominique plays the Alto. Tenor and Bari Saxophone. She plans to attend Louisiana State University to study Environmental Analysis and Risk Managment.
Her favorite show was Yesterday's Tomorrow and she enjoyed playing all the music. Her favorite memory is watching Mr. Bond and Mr. Hernandez race on their bike and scooter after rehearsal and going to State.
Her advice to new members is: "First, it's okay to feel uncomfortable or awkward at first, but remember that practice makes confident and comfortable. Second, when you're doing something—especially something you love—no one should ever make you feel embarrassed or diminished. So if they do, who cares? What matters most is that you have fun, improve, and give your 100%.".

Her advice to new members is: "Believe in yourself and be 1% better every day".
