🎬 Step into the shadows of classic French cinema…

The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston will be screening this month (June 5 and 21) 1958 French crime thriller tragedy film "Elevator to the Gallows" (Ascenseur pour l’échafaud), directed by by Louis Malle.

The directorial debut of Louis Malle, this atmospheric thriller features the role that catapulted the career of actress Jeanne Moreau. With rich black-and-white cinematography by Henri Decaë and an evocative musical score by jazz great Miles Davis, this noir-meets-New-Wave film marked a turning point in French cinema, and its legendary score signaled new musical directions for Davis.

Le Comité de sécurité du Consulat général de France à Houston s’est tenu le 23 mai 2026 en présence du Consul général, du Vice-consul, des chefs d’îlots, des conseillers des Français de l’étranger et des équipes du Consulat.

Cette réunion annuelle a permis de faire le point sur les principaux risques auxquels notre communauté française peut être confrontée au Texas : saison des ouragans, inondations, risques industriels liés aux installations pétrochimiques, tornades, cyberattaques ou encore situations d’urgence locales.

Un grand merci aux chefs d’îlots, relais essentiels du réseau de sécurité consulaire, pour leur engagement et leur mobilisation au service des Français du Texas, de l'Arkansas et de l’Oklahoma.

Nous remercions également Brian Murray, Assistant Deputy Coordinator for Homeland Security & Emergency Management du comté de Harris, pour sa présentation très complète sur la préparation aux situations d’urgence à l’approche de la saison des ouragans (1er juin – 30 novembre).
