Thirty years ago, seven South Asian women came together with a courageous belief: survivors of domestic violence deserved a safe place to turn.

On September 18, over 440 community members gathered to celebrate how far that vision has taken us—and to help carry Daya into its next chapter.

Together, we raised over $510,000—a record-breaking amount to support survivors and families through critical services including case management, counseling, legal advocacy, housing support, and economic empowerment.

From honoring those who have shaped Daya’s journey to hearing from survivors and celebrating the strength of our community, the evening was a powerful reminder of what we can accomplish when we come together.

For 30 years, Daya has been strengthened by survivors, supporters, and a community committed to creating a future where everyone can live with safety, healing, and hope.

Thank you for being part of Daya’s story—and for helping us carry this work forward for the next 30 years. 💜

Daya, alongside community partners and allies, came together this week to honor those whose lives were lost to domestic violence, to stand in solidarity with survivors, and to reaffirm our shared commitment to creating a safer community.

Remembering those we have lost also calls us to action. It asks us to keep showing up—for survivors, for one another, and for a future where safety, dignity, and freedom are possible for everyone.

Because ending domestic violence is not the work of one organization or one moment. It takes all of us: listening without judgment, speaking up when it matters, supporting survivors, and challenging the beliefs and systems that allow abuse to continue.

We carry this commitment forward—not only during Domestic Violence Awareness Month, but every day.

Together, we can create a community where every survivor is believed, supported, and free from violence.
