Every. Single. Time. 😂💦

Me seeing a waterfall like I haven’t seen one before. And honestly? I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of witnessing the beauty of God’s creation. 🥹🙌🏾

The sound. The movement. The sheer power of it all.

And to think… this is only a glimpse of what He created.

“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” — Genesis 1:1 🌎❤️

Back at it this morning… 💻☕🌿🎣

Working from home looks a little different at the Riverstead. No fancy outdoor office. Just my laptop, a cup of coffee, the river, and the sounds of nature keeping me company. And yes, a little fishing won’t hurt😁

Grateful for the flexibility to work, the opportunity to keep growing, and the reminder that sometimes the simplest things make life feel rich.

📝Riverstead lesson: Don’t wait until everything is perfect to appreciate what we have.

It’s October again. 🍂 Another season, another birthday, and another opportunity to reflect.

The older I get, the more I appreciate the lessons, the unexpected turns, the people who matter, and the peace that comes with knowing what deserves my energy.

I’m grateful for the miles I’ve traveled, the mercy I’ve received, and the grit that helped shape me along the way.

Here’s to another year of growing, living, and becoming. ❤️🥂

🌱 From a grow bag in May to harvest day at the Riverstead!

Three sweet potato varieties, one 25-gallon grow bag, and TJ right here helping me uncover the treasures hiding beneath the soil. 😂🍠

I love that gardening gives us another reason to get outside and do life together. We planted, waited, watered, and now we get to see what all that time produced.

Not every season gives you what you expected, but there’s something special about showing up and seeing what grew. 🙌🏾

Now it’s time to cure these babies for Thanksgiving! 🍠❤️

⬇️What are you planning for your Thanksgiving menu?

Duece the “Riverdog” doesn't care whether the fish are biting, whether the trotline comes up empty, or whether the day goes according to plan. He's just happy to be there with you.🐕🐟😂

📝Riverstead lesson: We spend so much time chasing the next big thing that we can miss the little things already making life good.

“godliness with contentment is great gain” -Timothy 6:6

A World Mental Health Day reminder 🌎
We spend so much time solving problems, worrying about tomorrow, caring for others, and keeping everything moving. Take a moment to step outside and give yourself room to pause and reset. Don’t forget to care for yourself too😇
Save this for when you need a reminder. 🫶🏾💚🩵💛💜

“Be a homeowner. Get some acreage.” They said. 😂

Nobody mentioned fixing the water well on Saturday morning😫

But one thing about TJ—he’s gonna figure it out. And teaching his “Little”sidekick is good too 😍💪🏾🌳

Never done this before, we will see what happens🙏🏾

There’s a reason watching a fire can feel like a reset. 🔥

The flickering light, crackling sound, warmth and repetitive movement create a multisensory experience that can pull our attention away from the noise around us. 🤓

Research has found that watching fire—especially with the sound of it—can promote relaxation and has been associated with lower blood pressure.

📝Riverstead lesson:
You don’t always need to do something.
Sometimes your nervous system needs permission to be still. 🧠🪑

“Be still & know, I am God”. ~Psalms 46:10

We’re not finished. Not even close. 😂

But after spending the weekend working this property together, we had to stop and appreciate the progress.🙌🏾

The Riverstead is slowly becoming the peaceful, park-like retreat we envisioned—a place where family can unplug, breathe, camp, fish, and enjoy this little piece of God’s creation. 🏕️🎣🦉🌳

🙏🏾Next big project: leveling some of that sandy terrain so we can make the back half safer and more comfortable for camping.👇🏾any ideas?
