Volunteer Spotlight: Meet Elaine!

Elaine has been part of the Wellspring family since August 2025, and we couldn’t be happier that she found her way to us!

A former shopper at our old Weymouth location, Elaine got to know Angela and Moe and even helped with the move to our new home at the Emilson Opportunity Hub. When she retired, she knew she wanted to give back through volunteering, and the rest is history!

Elaine volunteers one day a week and is always happy to lend a hand when needed. She has a wonderful creative spirit and a special talent for turning just about anything into something beautiful! From handmade crafts to brightening up our front entryway, she brings warmth, creativity, and a little extra joy to everyone who walks through our doors. And she always does it with a smile!

Elaine loves the people she works with and the customers she gets to meet. As she puts it, “Volunteering at Wellspring feels like hitting the jackpot!” Thank you, Elaine, for sharing your time, talent, and kindness with us. We are so grateful to have you on our team!

A quick update about the Wellspring food truck!

Our food truck will not be at The Hub tomorrow as it needs a little repair work. Our hardworking food team will also be taking a well-deserved break after all their amazing work serving our community!

The Weymouth Food Pantry’s (tag) "Feed the Way” mobile food pantry along with Wellspring outreach staff will be on site at the Hub tomorrow.

We’re excited to welcome the Weymouth Food Pantry mobile pantry, Feed the Wey, back on-site at The Hub tomorrow, Thursday, October 15 from 10AM - 12PM!

Weymouth residents are invited to shop at the pantry and access fresh food for themselves and their families. Wellspring staff will also be on-site to connect with customers, answer questions, and discuss additional resources and support available through Wellspring.

Sometimes, getting the help you need starts with simply showing up. We’re here to make that first step a little easier! We look forward to seeing you tomorrow!

Today we’re spotlighting one of our amazing volunteers, Donna!

Donna has been a selfless volunteer at Wellspring for the past 22 years! She knows and cares for all clients like they’re family, a culture everyone at Wellspring shares with her. Donna generously goes out of her way when she senses anyone who needs a little extra love. Her favorite thing is making every person who walks into the door smile and laugh; her positivity is genuinely contagious. She takes on any challenge thrown at her and is an incredibly hard worker. When asked why she volunteers at Wellspring, she stated, “Wellspring is like family to me now. I love volunteering here because they helped me out when I needed it. Now, I can help others who need a little help too.”

We look forward to celebrating more of our volunteers through the month of October!

October is Volunteer Month! Wellspring is celebrating the incredible people who give their time, talents, and energy through the Emily Curtis Pott Volunteer Program.

Every day, our volunteers help make Wellspring stronger—from supporting our food pantry and thrift shops to helping with events, organizing donations, assisting with programs, and so much more!

This month, we’re excited to celebrate and highlight our amazing volunteers!

One small action can grow to something big!
During October, $1 from every specially marked $11.99 Bloomin’ 4 Good bouquet purchased at our Stop & Shop located at 400 Lincoln St. will be given back to Wellspring.

Due to the weather, our upcoming Wellspring Golf Tournament on September 28, has been postponed and rescheduled to Monday, October 26.

While we’re disappointed to postpone, we’re excited to have a new date on the calendar to look forward to.
