🚒❤ McKENZIE FIRE DEPARTMENT GOES LIVE WITH ADVANCED CARDIAC MONITOR — McKenzie Fire/Rescue is now equipped with the Zoll X Series Cardiac Monitor/Defibrillator and Advanced Life Support Protocols, and it’s ready to serve the community.

The equipment was made possible through a partnership purchase between McKenzie Fire Department and McKenzie Police Department.

The Zoll X Series is a lightweight, full-featured monitor/defibrillator capable of tripling the survival odds of sudden cardiac arrest patients. The device combines defibrillation with advanced monitoring capabilities including ECG, pulse oximetry, blood pressure, CO2 levels, temperature, and respiration.

It can be used in trauma, cardiac arrest, respiratory distress, pediatric emergencies, and many other critical situations. It also features Real CPR Help technology, which provides real-time feedback on compression depth and rate to improve CPR quality in the field.

McKenzie Fire Department and McKenzie Police Department are proud to bring this level of care to our community.

Carroll County Fire Chief Jonathan Gaskins released a public statement regarding recent events surrounding Priority Ambulance.

Gaskins praised the local EMTs and paramedics, saying they “have done a very good job caring for our citizens under demanding circumstances.”

He also said the local and West Tennessee Priority directors are not to blame, noting both are new and inherited the problems.

He also recognized Baptist Hospital as a valued partner, saying his concerns are not a reflection on Baptist or its staff.

His concern is with Priority’s corporate leadership.

He says Carroll County is at roughly half staffing while neighboring counties are full or nearly full. Priority has offered $20,000 bonuses and still can’t fill the positions.

“Why is Carroll County experiencing such a significant gap?” Gaskins asks. “That deserves a clear explanation and a plan for improvement.”

He laid out three possible paths to address the situation: either Priority fixes it, the county contracts with someone else, or the county runs its own service.
