The harbors of Northport, Centerport and Huntington are in danger. All of these harbors have been repeatedly closed to shellfishing over the last several years.

During the past three years the beaches of Northport and Eaton’s Neck have been named among the most polluted in New York State, and several beaches have been closed either partially or wholly for the entire summer season. Northport Harbor is currently the epicenter of the Red Tide bloom for the entire Eastern seaboard.
