A Nashville man accused of beating a woman he had been dating with a hammer is now in custody in Arkansas after being on the run for several days. https://bit.ly/4BmkclE

The victim's father says all of this happened after his daughter got an order of protection against the suspect. He now wants to raise awareness.

Jeremy Perger said his daughter, Bailey Perger, underwent facial reconstructive surgery Wednesday at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Metro Police say Ross Peterson is responsible for the attack, and it's not his first run-in with the law.

💜 Let’s Taco ’Bout Domestic Violence 🌮

This Thursday, County’s is joining the Scott County Family Justice Center to help raise awareness during Domestic Violence Awareness Month!

We’ll be serving pork, chicken, and brisket tacos alongside all your regular menu favorites, all day from 10 AM–8 PM.

We love this community, and we know there are people here carrying things the rest of us may never see. If participating helps even one person learn where to turn for support or feel a little less alone, that matters to us.

A heartfelt thank-you to the Scott County Family Justice Center for the care and dedication you give to people facing some of their hardest days. Having someone listen, offer support, and help you take that next step can mean so much. We’re thankful our community has you, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to support your work.

Sheriff Barton commends deputies for safely resolving a domestic violence situation on October 14, 2026, at a residence on Pat Massengill Lane in Jacksboro.

The victim reported being held against her will and repeatedly assaulted between October 10 and October 14. Deputies obtained and executed a search warrant, recovering evidence related to the reported offenses.

Jonathan Massengill, 45, of Jacksboro, was arrested and transported to the Campbell County Jail on the following charges:

Especially Aggravated Kidnapping, Aggravated Assault, and three counts of Aggravated Assault by Domestic Violence by Strangulation.

The Campbell County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to protecting victims and investigating domestic violence.
