Changing the language doesn’t change what the law actually does.

Supporters call Chapter 135 “gun safety.” We call it what it is: expanded gun control.

Chapter 135 added new fi***rm registration requirements, expanded restrictions on certain fi***rms, and changed licensing and training rules for Massachusetts residents.

These changes place additional burdens on people who are already following the law, while raising a much bigger question:

How do we stop violent offenders who obtain fi***rms illegally?

Massachusetts already had strict fi***rm laws before Chapter 135. Yet lawmakers added another layer of restrictions that lawful gun owners must navigate.

Our position is simple: Public safety efforts should focus on violent criminals and the illegal use of fi***rms, not continue piling requirements onto citizens who follow the law.

This is about protecting constitutional rights while holding people who commit violent crimes accountable.

On November 3, Massachusetts voters will decide whether Chapter 135 stays or goes.

A NO vote on Question 9 repeals Chapter 135. The fi***rm laws that existed before it remain in place.

Know what changed. Know what’s at stake.

Why MA is surging with more LTC y-o-y .....

Why the Surge Happened, from the article:
Ask the people who lived through it and the answer isn’t complicated. Mike McDaniel, writing on the data, points to out-of-control crime, the defund-the-police movement, and years of Democratic overreach as the forces that moved Americans to arm up at record levels. He also views the government’s pandemic-era response as having deepened Americans’ distrust of their own institutions — a view many first-time owners from that stretch would endorse without needing anyone’s permission.

Whatever one makes of the framing, the behavior is rational. When the authorities you were told to rely on announce they’re pulling back, and when politicians spend their energy trying to curb your means of self-defense, the predictable response is to go buy a gun while you still can.

LTCs jumped from 2023 to 2025 per year (approved ones), 77,672 to 127,698 ...so when did the listening tours start....2023, when the law get passed 2024, and all the extra nonsense waiting for state agencies to get their act together .... 2025, then into 2026. 2026 data is not a full 12 months, but is on the same trajectory to exceed 2025.

The arm chair know it alls and crystal ballers have thrown in the towel and asked us all to hang it up. Every MA poll of MA voters has Q9 in the bag. However, what would you expect in this state, an entire D landslide and every liberal policy gets pushed through or grows larger. How about a scholarly research poll from out of state that reflects a different picture. Based on CRC research earlier thisyear and polls from outside of MA with a degree of integrity show the vote is wide open and we all have a role to educate the many that need info - the law has the wrong focus - criminalize law abiding citizens , instead of the criminals who ignore the law. https://scholars.unh.edu/survey_center_polls/1008/
