Today is the first day of early voting! Vote YES on Question 3 and protect our progress. We're asking to keep the people and services already in your schools — the counselors, teachers, resource officers, and support staff that students rely on every day. About 300 positions depend on this renewal.

“Strong schools are at the heart of strong communities. As a Realtor, I see firsthand how the quality of our schools contributes to the vitality, desirability, and long-term strength of our neighborhoods. I’m proud to support the renewal of Washington Township’s Operating Referendum and the continued investment in the teachers, programs, and resources that help our students thrive and our community remain a wonderful place to call home.” - Kimsley Farrar

Indiana's school funding formula has shifted significantly over the years, and recent legislation (SEA 1) has made it harder for local districts to generate the revenue they need. At the same time, the cost of running schools — transportation, utilities, insurance — has risen sharply. The gap has to be bridged somehow.

State funding covers most instructional costs, but it does not fully fund all district needs.
👉 Funding is based on student enrollment (ADM)
👉 It often does not keep pace with inflation
👉 Local funding (like referendums) helps cover gaps in operations and programming.

Vote YES on November 3 and bridge the gap in Washington Township.

There are just 42 days until November 3 and early voting starts on October 6. Every day counts! The Washington Township Schools Operating Referendum renewal is one of the most important votes our community will cast this year. This funding supports the programs, resources, and staff that make our schools great.

Our PAC is on the ground at school events and in neighborhoods making sure every parent, neighbor, and community member knows what is at stake and how important their YES vote is. But, we need your support to keep going.
