Long Lane Farm has deep roots in Indiana 4-H, going back to 1947 when their first cattle were purchased from a 4-H member! Multiple generations over 80 years have benefitted from the real-life experience that millions of young people across the country have gained from being a part of this organization. Congratulations to the Nierman family on this fantastic article!

Despite rain, wind, and mud, the Foundation's 2026 Annual Meeting was a great success thanks in large part to the incredible hospitality of our hosts, Tuttle Orchards! We enjoyed live music by Parker Hastings Music while eating a delicious lunch prepared by Smokin' Joe's Catering. YES Grants recipients Luke Manship, Baylie Davis, and Emma Welborn were on hand to chat about their community service projects, and 2025 accomplisment scholarship recipient Devon Kelley talked about his 4-H experiences. Thanks to these bright, engaging, hardworking young people for spending their Saturday with us!

We also send a big thank you to American Income Life Insurance Company for sponsoring our meeting again this year.

Congratulations to Marion County 4-Her and Indiana 4-H Foundation YES Grant recipient Lydia! Yesterday, she had her event, "Keeping Nature in the Neighborhood".

She hosted a booth for IMPD's Community Day at Garfield Park, engaging people on the topic of pollinators and native plants. She also handed out seed packets, 150 seedlings, and 100 grow bags for those who may not have a yard, as well as informational flyers on creating a pollinator garden. Her goal is to have people take an interest in plants and support pollinators in the suburbs.

πŸš—πŸ€Show off your clover pride by purchasing an Indiana 4-H Foundation Specialty License Plate at your local BMV Branch!

Plate fees support programs for young people state-wide, and a portion of the money from each plate that is sold goes right back to 4-H in the county where the plate was purchased. You can purchase or renew your Indiana 4-H Foundation Specialty Plate at your local BMV Branch or at bmv.in.gov.

In our spring newsletter, we chat with Sapphire Clover giving club member Pris Gerde about her 4-H experience and how she's planning to help future generations of Indiana 4-Hers.

"4-H will always be a part of who I am, and it’s important to me to pay forward all of the incredible experiences I had,” she said.
