This year’s ICI Day at the Statehouse was a powerful reminder of the impact collective voices can have in shaping the future of independent higher education. Seeing so many dedicated advocates—students, faculty, and campus leaders—engage with legislators and share their stories was truly inspiring.
A highlight of the day was the increased student participation. Their enthusiasm, insights, and willingness to connect with policymakers made a lasting impression, reinforcing the importance of our mission. And, of course, the return of the mascots brought an extra dose of energy and school spirit to the event—a tradition we continue to cherish!

Several ICI member colleges and universities have been awarded nearly $300 million in grants from the Lilly Endowment to fuel transformative community development projects!
