The Central Indiana AFL-CIO represents 55,000 union members and their families in Central Indiana.

The Central Indiana Labor Council AFL CIO (CLC) represents approximately 50,000 working men and women in a variety of different sectors, from manufacturing to construction trades and public employees. The CLC was founded in 1981 by Bob Voorhies, James Hagg Jr, William Ford, James McDaniels, Robert Riggs, Harry Gowan, Vernon Kesterson, Joseph Lohman, Charles Perry, Catherine Butler, Dan Reasons, Jo

hn Jones, and Walter Theadford. The establishment of the Central Indiana Labor Council AFL-CIO through the merger of the Indianapolis Central Labor Union and the Indianapolis Industrial Union Council, affiliated with the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations, is an expression of the hopes and aspirations of the working people of America. We seek the fulfillment of these hopes and aspirations through the democratic process within the framework of our constitutional government and consistent with our institutions and traditions. At the collective bargaining table in the community, in the exercise of the rights and responsibilities of citizenship, we shall responsibly serve the interest of all the American people. We pledge ourselves to the more effective organization of working men and women; to securing for them the full recognition and enjoyment of the rights to which they are justly entitled: to the achievement of ever higher standards of living and working conditions; to the attainment of security for all the people; to the enjoyment of the leisure which their skills make possible; and to the strengthening and extension of our way of life and the fundamental freedoms which are the basis of our democratic society. We shall combat resolutely the forces which seek to undermine the democratic institutions of our nation and to enslave the human soul. We shall strive always to win full respect for the dignity of the human individual whom our Unions serve. 🚨 SOLIDARITY ACTION ALERT 🚨

The workers at Horseshoe Casino fought for 52 days on the picket line for one simple thing: UNION RECOGNITION.

They stood strong. They sacrificed. They won their election by nearly 70%.

Yet Caesars continues to challenge the voice of its own employees instead of respecting the outcome and recognizing their union.

Now it’s time for the labor movement, community leaders, elected officials, and working people across Indiana to stand together.

📢 Teamsters Local 135 is calling on ALL supporters, allies, elected officials, friends of labor, community activists, and especially Teamsters to join us at the outside of the National Labor Relations Board during the hearing and send a clear message:

✊ Respect the workers’ vote.
✊ Respect the right to organize.
✊ Stop the union-busting.
