Virtuous/Valiant, Victorious, & Saved. The children of this generation are succumbing every day to the negative image of self that is perpetuated by a world that doesn't truly love them. We at Martindale Church want to effectively reaffirm that their worth is more than what the world and it's ills tells them they are! The VVS Ministry is here to restore the identity of who these youth are in the w

Word of Encouragement:

Ironic. Today's encouragement hits a little closer to home than regularly, as it is the little confirmation of an almost 14 year journey to this point. It's funny how God has a way of using you in ways that seemingly don't connect, until He decides to show you the completed puzzle. Nonetheless, our duty as believers is to have the heart and mind of Christ, even in the face of situations that don't seemingly deserve compassion nor forgiveness. The ironic part is that we trust God to show us mercy, forgiveness, and compassion, then fail to extend the same when the spotlight is on us, choosing to categorize wrongs as though we have the ability to make someone suffer for the mistakes of the past. I've once said that the truest test of a Christian is to ask them who was going to hell, and if it happens to be full of their enemies, then they probably haven't got it, yet. I challenge you today, as I face a person who has caused 13+ years of hurt today for the first time, to face those in your life who may not deserve it (in your eyes), through and with the eyes and heart of Christ. Extend your forgiveness, and heal yourself. Stop letting the pain they caused so long ago continue to affect your future. Let go and show them that you are .

"Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you." Ephesians 4:32

Word of Encouragement:

The power of healing is not what many believe it to be. Some believe that "faith healing" is about believing the non-existence of illness despite the overwhelming evidence of fact otherwise. The truth, however, is not the denial of fact, but the acknowledgement of sin in our lives. What makes prayer for healing so complicated for non-believers is the concept of sin, not the concept of healing. The bible is clear that before we commit ourselves to prayer, we must first, in every instance, cleanse ourselves through repentance. Prayer is powerful, and you have unlimited access to it, and when accessed it will make you .

"Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective."
James 5:16
