Last Friday afternoon, I attended the Indiana Greenways Foundation annual luncheon and delivered a Trails Caucus update - and got to celebrate some exciting news: our very own Nickel Plate Trail won the Outstanding Project of the Year award! It was wonderful to join Councilor Boots, Indy Trails Manager extraordinaire Gretchen Zortman, BRAG President Kevin Senniger, and other NPT leaders for that well-deserved recognition.
Cheers to our community for pulling together to bring this transformative infrastructure to our neighborhoods. This is exactly what community looks like.

Hi Friends,
Last Thursday, I was glad to join Councilor Boots on a panel at the Friends of the White River annual meeting. It was a rich discussion covering everything from water quantity and quality to river activation - the idea that when people use the river for recreation (boating, swimming, trail use, fishing), they become its fiercest protectors. I'm grateful for the community leaders working to protect and activate this precious shared resource.
Sustainably yours,
Carey

Three quick updates from the Statehouse!
Grateful to the incredible folks in Dubois County who showed me the proposed route of the $3.4B Midstates Corridor.
$3.4 billion for a brand new road, while we struggle to maintain our existing roads.
