From the day we began in 1972, Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve has forged relationships with the business community, and fostered cooperation and understanding between civilian employers and Guard & Reserve members. Today, ESGR continues to thrive, providing guidance, support, and protection for those upholding their military commitment while working in the civilian world.

Fort Wayne, IN: Mr. Dean McComb, of McComb Brothers General Contractors LLC, was recently recognized by the U.S. Department of War and received the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Patriot Award.

Dean was nominated by Staff Sergeant (SSgt) Austin Lambert who serves with the Air National Guard. SSgt Lambert shared, "McComb Brothers General Contractors LLC is supportive and understanding of my military career. Even last minute notifications, they have never complained. I appreciate their support."

We are so grateful for supportive employers and congratulate Dean on his recognition.

Today, Indiana ESGR proudly celebrates the dedicated Soldiers who have served our nation with honor, courage, and commitment since 1775. We thank all Army Service members, Veterans, families, and the employers whose support makes military service possible.

On this Flag Day, stand in unity with our homeland, honor our fallen heroes, and salute the greatest mark of freedom anywhere in the world. 🇺🇸

Carmel, IN: Members of the leadership team at Republic Airways were recognized today by U.S. Department of War with Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Patriot Awards. Receiving awards were Mr. Nolan Elkin, Mr. Joey Gray, Ms. Krista Murdock, and Ms. Nakescha Cody.

1LT Brushaber, (Indiana Army National Guard) nomiated his supervisors and shared his experience, "My managers have gone above and beyond with working with me on my military career. Typically I give them plenty of notice and never get any pushback. However, there are things that do pop up from time to time on short notice. Because of the support I get from my managers, I never have to worry about getting time off."

We'd like to congratulate each recipient and thank them for all their support. The Patriot Award reflects the efforts made to support citizen warriors through a wide-range of measures including flexible schedules, time off prior to and after deployment, caring for families, and granting leaves of absence if needed.
