There is immense dignity in work.
At last month’s Women In Government Medicaid Policy Symposium, I had the pleasure of facilitating the panel, “Work Without Worry: Medicaid ‘Buy-In’ Programs Preserve Coverage for People with Disabilities.”

Our conversation focused on a critical goal: finding innovative ways to expand workforce opportunities for people with disabilities using existing Medicaid funding—all while ensuring we protect vital coverage for other vulnerable groups.

Thank you to my fellow panelists and everyone who joined this vital discussion on building a stronger economy where everyone has the opportunity to increase their economic independence.

Face to face tours are a critical piece of my education as I work to understand the many nuances and challenges of managing HHS policy and budgets for Iowa.

Thanks to REM Iowa for inviting me into your adult day program! While we can’t always take photos, the memories and faces stick with me as I do my work at the Capitol.

I was honored to serve on the steering committee for Women In Government’s inaugural Medicaid Policy Symposium last month in our nation’s Capitol.

Legislators and industry partners from across the country and both sides of the aisle gathered to discuss Medicaid sustainability strategies for affordable, accountable, and accessible care.

After a full day of sessions, we also took in the sites of DC! 🇺🇸

ENDORSEMENT for Jeff Staton

When we passed the law to bring geographic districts to Story County, we wanted to ensure true local representation. Now, we have an ideal leader for District 1. We are officially endorsing Jeff Staton for Story County Supervisor.

We got to know Jeff earlier this year, and his background speaks for itself. Jeff has a proven track record as an HR leader at major area employers like Pella Corporation and Renewable Energy Group (Chevron). His executive experience gives him the exact tools necessary to step into county government and deliver results.

What truly sets Jeff apart is his unique blend of business smarts and a genuine heart for the community. He knows how to make people feel heard, bring opposing sides together, and build positive solutions.

Jeff Staton brings the energy and professional leadership Story County needs for a successful future. Join us in supporting Jeff Staton for District 1!

I had a lovely tour at Rolling Green Village and Indian Creek Assisted Living this week!

IHCA's Merea Bentrott joined Sen. Warme and Rep. Barker for a visit to IHCA member Rolling Green Village in Nevada this week!

Thank you to Sen. Warme and Rep. Barker for taking the time to learn more about the important care and services provided at Rolling Green Village. We also appreciate Debi Chatman, Karah Dizdarevic and Carlie Phillips for welcoming the group and highlighting the meaningful work they do each day to support and enhance quality care for Iowans.
