IHL at UCI
International Humanitarian Law (IHL) is the body of law that places basic limits on how war is waged.
It aims to protect human dignity during times of armed conflict, and to prevent or reduce the suffering and destruction that result from war. The IHL Action Campaign at UCI seeks to bring awareness about HEALTH CARE IN DANGER a crucial, yet overlooked humanitarian issue today. IHL protects the wounded & sick, medical personnel, and medical units & protective emblems. In many cases we see forced entries into health facilities and attacks on hospital.
