I was pleased to speak at the 2026 Highlight International Art Festival at the Bowers Museum, a celebration of art, culture, and creative expression.

Visitors enjoyed traditional Chinese embroidery, watched calligraphy created before their eyes, and experienced cultural performances including dance and a fashion show. Events like this create opportunities to learn from one another and celebrate tradition.

Today I attended the USA 250 Patriotic Song Competition, where talented Orange County students shared original compositions inspired by our nation’s 250th anniversary.

Congratulations to all of this year’s winners, including Emma Refael from Beckman High School and Ben Sriprapundh from Northwood High School. It was wonderful to see young people use their creativity and talents to reflect on our country’s founding principles and values.
