The Greater Jackson Chamber helped host the first West Tennessee Nuclear Summit last week, alongside the Tennessee Board of Regents, Jackson State Community College (JSCC) and Tennessee College of Applied Technology - Jackson.

The summit brought together leaders from across the state in education, industry, workforce development and economic development to explore the opportunities emerging from Tennessee’s growing nuclear energy sector.

Mandy White our Chief Economic Development Officer, moderated a panel on what nuclear energy growth could mean for West Tennessee’s economy, joined by leaders from TVA Economic Development and the state’s economic development office.

Kyle Spurgeon, our President/CEO, wrapped up the day by talking through what West Tennessee needs to do next to be part of this opportunity. It was a great conversation about where our region fits into Tennessee’s nuclear future.

Congrats to Aspell Recovery Center on today's ribbon cutting for their second Charlie's House!

This brand-new transitional living home at 121 Talbot Street means more men in early recovery now have a safe, affordable place to stay while they continue treatment and work toward long-term recovery.

Funded through the Tennessee Opioid Abatement Council — this is more housing, more support, and more hope for our community.

Way to go, Aspell!
