This election is ultimately about what qualities Jackson residents want in their city treasurer.

Some may view the office primarily through the lens of transactions, collections, and investment returns.

I take a broader view.

The Treasurer's Office is entrusted with both public resources and public trust.

That means safeguarding public funds. It also means supporting professional staff, providing clear answers, working collaboratively with other departments, communicating openly with residents, and remaining accountable to the public.

Throughout my career in administration, education, nonprofit leadership, and public service, I've worked in positions that required oversight, stewardship, accountability, and sound judgment.

Those experiences have shaped how I would approach the office.

Protect public resources.
Support the professionals who serve residents.
Provide clear answers and transparency.
Earn and maintain public trust.

That's the approach I would bring to the office of Jackson City Treasurer.

Early voting begins October 24 and runs through November 1. Election Day is November 3.

I ask for your vote for Jackson City Treasurer.

The endorsements that mean the most are the ones earned through years of shared work and public service.

I'm grateful to receive the endorsement of Jackson County Commissioner Darius Williams.

Commissioner Williams and I have worked together through the Jackson County Land Bank Authority, where we've addressed housing, redevelopment, public service, and ways to strengthen our community.

What means the most about this endorsement is the relationship and shared commitment behind it. The people who work alongside you, see how you approach public service, and know your character firsthand are often in the best position to speak to your readiness to serve.

Thank you, Commissioner Williams, for your support, your friendship, and your service to Jackson.

The work matters.
Public service matters.

Moments From Around Jackson.

Over the past weeks, I've walked a lot of miles, had a lot of conversations, and taken every opportunity to connect with people across our community. I’m still at it!

I've enjoyed knocking on doors, attending meetings, stopping by community events, and talking with residents about Jackson.

Every conversation reminds me that local government matters because the people who call Jackson home matter.

Thank you to everyone who has shared their time, ideas, questions, and perspectives.

I'm grateful to be part of these conversations and thankful for the encouragement, engagement, and support I've received along the way.

The work matters.
Public service matters.

Residents should know how their money is being managed. Public investing and private investing have different goals.

Earning investment income is important but so are safety, liquidity, and transparency. The goal is making sure city departments have access to the resources they need to serve residents.

I support monthly public investment reporting like the reports published by the Jackson County Treasurer's Office. Jackson County taxpayers can review monthly treasury and finance reports showing how public funds are being managed and invested.

View the County reports here:
https://www.mijackson.org/1404/Monthly-Finance-Reports

City residents deserve similar information about:
• How city funds are invested
• Investment earnings and performance
• Available liquidity for city operations
• How public resources are being safeguarded

Protecting taxpayer dollars is about more than earning interest.
It also requires stewardship, accountability, transparency, and public trust.

Thank you to everyone who joined today's Jackson County Democratic Lunch Bunch.

I appreciated the opportunity to talk about public service, public trust, and the importance of stewardship and accountability in local government.

The Treasurer's Office is a fiduciary office and a public-trust office. Those principles continue to guide my campaign and my vision for the office.

Thank you for the thoughtful conversation, warm welcome, and commitment to our community.

My Priorities as Treasurer

No one takes office knowing everything. Good public servants listen, learn, and work alongside the people already doing the work. These are the priorities I would bring to the office on day one:

Clear Answers. No Runaround.
Residents deserve straightforward information, consistent answers, and responsive service.

Support the Staff Who Serve Us.
Strong offices are built by strong teams, and great public service starts with supporting the professionals who help us all every day.

Work Together to Better Serve Residents.
Strong partnerships with the County Treasurer, City departments, elected officials, and community partners help reduce confusion and improve service.

Long-Term Fiduciary Stewardship.
Public resources should be managed responsibly, balancing today's needs with tomorrow's responsibilities.

Accountability Over Accounting.
The Treasurer's Office is a fiduciary office and a public-trust office. Stewardship, transparency, sound judgment, and public trust should guide every decision.

These priorities reflect what I've learned through years of public service: trust is earned through responsibility, accountability, and service.

The work matters.
Public service matters.
Your City. Your Money. Your Choice.

One of my favorite things about events like these is the chance to slow down, have real conversations, and gain a little perspective. Every conversation is an opportunity to learn something new.
