What better way to close out this powerful Black History Month than to celebrate a phenomenal woman!

Today Sarah Court No.1 honors Heroine Sonya D. Brinson, The Most Ancient Grand Matron of Most Ancient Union Grand Court Heroines of Jericho, Florida Jurisdiction, Prince Hall Affiliated.

Heroine Sonya D. Simmons-Brinson joined the PHAmily February 2004 as a member of Bay City Court #109 Heroines of Jericho in St. Petersburg. Her local court is part of Sarah Lark Council District #10
where she served as District Deputy and Assistant District Deputy Ancient Grand Matron and Past Most Ancient Matron. She also held the following positions over the years in the Grand Court as Deputy
Ancient Grand Matron, Senior Ancient Grand Matron, Junior Ancient Grand Matron, Grand Junior Attendant, and a member of the Jurisprudence Committee amongst other throughout her travels. Her other Masonic affiliations include the Order of the Golden Circle where Sonya served 12 years as the Grand Registrar for Fred Alexander Grand State Assembly Order of the Golden Circle. In her local Assembly University City #277 she is a Past Loyal Lady Ruler. Sonya was named Loyal Lady of the Year in
2012 for dedication to service. She is a member of Live Oak Chapter #83 Order of the Eastern Star and Lenora Porter Court #18 Ladies of the Circle of Perfection.

She has respectfully earned two master degrees, and a MBA in Computer Science.

In her spare time, she loves to travel with her husband of 7 years, officiates high school and middle school basketball and volleyball, and has officiated 11 State Series championship games. Grand Sonya is forth child of five in her family and served her country in the United States Air Force for 10 years.
