Celebrating 10 Years of West Central Joint ETSB 911!

10 Years of Service. 10 Years of Dedication. 10 Years of Answering the Call.

This year marks a major milestone for West Central Joint ETSB 911 as we celebrate 10 years of serving the communities of Morgan, Greene, and Calhoun Counties!

In 2016, multiple dispatch centers came together with one shared mission: to provide professional and compassionate 9-1-1 and emergency dispatch services in a fiscally responsible manner to the residents, visitors, businesses and all the agencies served by the Center. Over the past decade, we have continued to grow, improve, and raise the standard of 911 service for the citizens and first responders who depend on us.

🏆 Triple ACE Accreditation! One of our proudest accomplishments was earning accreditation in Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD), Emergency Fire Dispatch (EFD), and Emergency Police Dispatch (EPD) through the International Academies of Emergency Dispatch. This achievement places West Central among an elite group of emergency communications centers worldwide and reflects our commitment to providing the highest level of service.

đź’š Leading the Way in Mental Health Response! West Central has also become a leader in Illinois in mental health crisis response, helping advance the integration of 988 resources and specialized emergency dispatch protocols. We recognize that not every emergency requires the same response, and we are committed to connecting people in crisis with the right help, compassion, and resources.

❤️ Honoring Those Who Have Been Here Since Day One! As we celebrate this milestone, we want to recognize five dedicated members of our team who have been part of West Central since the very beginning: Phil, Beth, Jessica, JaNece, and Lacey! Their commitment, experience, and dedication have helped shape West Central into the agency it is today. Thank you for being part of this journey for all 10 years!

To every telecommunicator, past and present, who has answered the call, every first responder who has worked alongside us, and every community member who has placed their trust in us — THANK YOU!

We are incredibly proud of how far we have come, the improvements we have made, and the lives we have impacted along the way.

While much has changed in 10 years, our mission remains the same: to be the calm voice in the chaos, the lifeline in an emergency, and the connection between our communities and the help they need.

📞 Here's to 10 years of service and many more to come!

“25 years ago, 246 people went to sleep in preparation for their morning flights. 2,606 people went to sleep in preparation for work in the morning. 343 firefighters went to sleep in preparation for their morning shift. 60 police officers went to sleep in preparation for morning patrol. 8 paramedics went to sleep in preparation for the morning shift.

None of them saw past 11:00am Sept 11, 2001.

In one single moment life may never be the same. As you live and enjoy the breaths you take today and tonight before you go to sleep in preparation for your life tomorrow, kiss the ones you love, snuggle a little tighter, and never take one second of your life for granted.”
