One of the most common mistakes I see is clients signing their documents before meeting with the notary.

In many cases, the notary is required to witness the signature and verify the identity of the signer at the time the document is signed.

Before your appointment:

✔️ Review your documents
✔️ Complete any information requested
✔️ Have your valid government-issued ID ready

❌ Do NOT sign the document

Signing too early could delay your appointment or require additional steps before the document can be notarized.

🔐 Why is the notary asking me personal questions?

If you're completing a Remote Online Notarization (RON), you may be required to pass Knowledge-Based Authentication (KBA) before meeting with the notary.

What is KBA?

KBA is a security measure used to verify your identity. You may be asked questions based on information from public and credit-related records, such as:

✔️ Previous addresses
✔️ Vehicle ownership
✔️ Mortgage history
✔️ Loan information

Important things to know:

🔒 The notary does NOT create the questions.
🔒 The notary cannot see your answers.
🔒 The questions are generated by a secure third-party identity verification system.
🔒 KBA helps prevent fraud and protect your identity.
