The Tlingit & Haida Ketchikan Community Council stands in support of Ketchikan Indian Community and its call for accountability following the racist remarks made by a Ketchikan Gateway Borough Planning Commissioner.

Our Tribal communities stand together. Racism has no place in public service, and Native people should never be made to feel like a burden in our own homelands. We support KIC’s call for formal censure and every lawful step available to remove the commissioner.

We are still here. We belong here. We will continue standing together for our people, our children, and the generations yet to come.
