Update: now Longview Animal Care and Adoption Center

Is this your dog? Finder reports it has been hanging around Lexington Court Apartments for a couple of weeks.

Not yet scanned for chip.

I’m off for the day as of a few hours ago, that’s what happens when you work 11 days straight. 😉

But I did come back to quickly secure this dog. I’ll check chip later today.

Update: today’s catch of the day was a Cooper’s Hawk, now safe with a rehab vet.

What does the ACO have in the truck today?

Only clue: something I haven’t had yet.

PSA of the day:

What happens when you are untruthful about where you got an animal?

1) you fill up an already full shelter with animals that don’t belong to that jurisdiction, taking spots away from animals that do belong there. Putting lives at risk of the animals that are already there. The shelter is full most of the time, we need to do our best not to add to it needlessly.

2) you pass the cost to the wrong jurisdiction and tax payers. Kilgore shouldn’t have to foot the bill for dogs that aren’t from within the city limits of Kilgore. We are a city service only. And since we do not have a shelter here we pay the Longview shelter to take our dogs.

3) you take resources away from the animals of this jurisdiction.

I know it’s frustrating but please do things the right way. I typically know when you’re not truthful, let’s just skip that. Let me give you some resources instead.

Update: safe with a rescue

Anyone misplace a litter of puppies? Finder says 4 of them were just hanging out in the heat, but one got away from them.

A local rescue is trying to keep them out of a very full shelter if you’re into fostering.
