We have received reports of a person calling the citizens of La Paz County claiming to be Captain Visko #3156 of the Sheriff's Office. He convinces people that they or a family member have a warrant and demands $3000 or face additional charges.

We do not have anyone by that name employed at the Sheriff’s Office and would never call demanding money. In the past these scam attempts have actually used names of our employees.

Memory wallets can be super handy for someone with dementia, especially men. These small wallets hold photos and short descriptions of things they often ask about, like family members, daily schedules, or favorite activities. They give quick answers, which can help reduce anxiety and cut down on repetitive questions. For many, having a wallet in their pocket gives a sense of security. They'd feel lost without it. However, this wouldn't work for someone who doesn't typically carry a wallet since it's not familiar for them. The simple info in a memory wallet makes it easy for them to find what they need fast as long as you help them to remember to reference it!
