Please bring a lawn chair as the event begins at 10:00 in the morning. Remember, this is an all-day event featuring continuous activities, singing, and fellowship.

Psalms 133:1 NIV
David stated that unity is pleasant and precious. Unfortunately, unity is not always valued as highly as it should be, even in the church.
People disagree and cause division over unimportant issues. Some delight in causing tension by discrediting others. The church in particular needs unity because (1) it makes the church a positive example to the world and helps draw others to God; (2) it helps us cooperate as a body of believers as God meant us to, giving us a foretaste of heaven; and (3) it renews and revitalizes ministry because there is less tension to sap our energy.
Living in unity does not require us to agree on everything; we will have as many opinions as notes in a complicated musical chord. But we must agree on our purpose in life-to work together for God. Our outward expression of unity will reflect our inward unity of purpose.

What you put in your mind and in your heart is what others see in your words and in your actions.
“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.”
Philippians 4:8-9 NIV
What we put into our minds determines what comes out in our words, desires, and actions. Paul tells us to train our minds to focus on thoughts that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excel-lent, and praiseworthy. Do you have problems with impure thoughts and daydreams? Examine what you are putting into your mind through movies, the Internet, books, conversations, gossip, television, video games, and magazines. Replace harmful and negative input with wholesome material. Above all. read God's Word and pray. Ask God to help you fill your mind with good and pure thoughts. This takes practice, but it can be done.
It's not enough to hear or read the Word of God or even to know it well. We must also put what God is teaching us into practice. How easy it is to listen to a sermon and forget what the preacher said. How easy it is to read the Bible and not think about how to live differently. How easy it is to debate what a passage means and not live out that mean-ing. Exposure to God's Word is not enough. It must lead to obedience.

“Therefore I want you to know that no one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says, “Jesus be cursed,” and no one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit. There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work.”
1 Corinthians 12:3-6 NIV
The spiritual gifts given to each person by the Holy Spirit are special abilities that are to be used to minister to the needs of the body of believers. God gives many gifts to the people of his church, and he spreads those gifts around so that members of his body can complement each other and accomplish more when working together, tapping into the full range of available gifts. Some people have more than one gift, and one gift is not superior to another. All spiritual gifts come from the Holy Spirit with the purpose of building up Christ's body, the church.
Instead of building up and unifying the Corinthian church, the issue of spiritual gifts was splitting it: Spiritual gifts had become symbols of spiritual power and status; causing rivalries because some people thought they were more "spiritual" than others because of their gifts. This was a terrible misuse of spiritual gifts because their purpose is always to help the church function more effectively, not to divide it. We can be divisive if we insist on using our gifts our own way without being sensitive to how our gifts can best be used to serve others and unify the church.
We Must Never Use Our Gifts As a Means of Manipulating Others or Serving Our Own Personal Interests.

Loudon Free Will Baptist Church is helping in efforts to offer relief to the victims of hurricane Helene. We are partnering with Faithful Promise Ministries to get items to where they are needed.
If it is on your heart and you able to provide help, please take any and all donations to Loudon Free Will Baptist Church at 341 Country Lane, Loudon, TN 37774.
There will be volunteers ready and willing to take your donations tomorrow, Tuesday and Wednesday Oct. 1st. and 2nd. between the hours of 11am to 6pm.
Below are a list of items that are needed:
• Bottled water
• Powerade/Gatorade
• Blankets
• Toiletries
• Clothing of all sizes
• Flashlights
• Batteries
• Walkers/Canes
• Baby formula
• Non-perishable foods
• Protein bars
• Pet food/supplies
• Peanut butter crackers
• Vienna Sausages
• ЕСТ.
Of course any monetary donations are welcome, too.
