Knox County Board of Education seeks to remove the words 's*xual orientation and gender identity' from it non-discrimination statement. Board members say they will not tolerate bullying for any cause. So they want to substitute the one word 's*x' to include s*xual orientation and gender identity or perceptions thereof. But truth be told, we DO need the protection of spelled out words. Good intentions are not enough.

Let's never forget the 49 who went to the Pulse on Latin night to find refuge and instead found death.
Let's continue to pray for others at the Pulse that night who continue to fight for healing.
Let's pray for all LGBTQ persons who seek places of safety and comfort.
Let's work actively and pray actively that our places of worship may be those safe places. AMEN.
