Our kiosks are so simple, our awesome helpers, Easton (our impatient barcode scanner) 6 years old and Bryant (our money man) 9 years old, did it in 1:29 seconds. And that was with some credit card swiping issues.
We posted the unedited video so there would be no question how easy it is.
1. scan the barcode on the renwal form.
2. follow the prompts answering the questions.
3. touch proceed to payment.
4. swipe the credit card (turn it according to the image on the machine 😉.
5. take your new registration card with your sticker.

When you come to the Clerk's Office and approach the passport window, we will typically ask you two questions. The first should be some form of, "How can I help you?". If your response is, "I need to get a passport", our next question will most certainly be, "Do you have an appointment?".
You can go to the link below to make an appointment. As we get closer to travel season, appointment times fill up quickly. Make sure you have plenty of time to get your passport back before your trip.

We always look for a "yes" but sometimes we have to say no. Here are some of the most common reasons for having to say no.
- We can't verify that the human in front of us is the name on the paperwork (No ID).
- Insufficient paperwork. Always check our website for a list of what documentation is needed for transactions and if you can't find it, you can always call us.
- Signatures in the wrong place on the back of the title. Also remember that you can't use white-out on a title. If the back of the title has been altered it is no longer valid and you will have to request a duplicate ($14).
- Insufficient information. You have to provide your license plate number or your vin number to renew your registration or get a duplicate title.
Check out our website https://www.blounttn.gov/309/County-Clerk for more information or give us a call.

Lost your title? The process of getting a duplicate title is fairly simple.
If the title is in your name only, bring your ID to the Blount County Clerk's office at 345 Court St in Maryville or our satellite office in Foothills Mall. With your photo ID, the plate or vin number, and $14 and we can print one for you.
If the title is your and someone else's name, for example, "John and Jane Doe", then John and Jane would need to be present with both ID's, the plate or vin #, and $14 and we can print one for you.
If the names on the title are listed with an "or" between them, for example, "John or Jane Doe", then either can come in, bring a photo ID, the plate or vin #, and $14 and we can print your title for you.
You may not be able to get your title instantly in the following circumstances:
- A previous lien was never released.
- If you have recently registered the vehicle in your name, you must wait 15 days before we can print a duplicate.
- If title is in a deceased family member's name, additional documentation is usually required.
For special circumstances, you can always call the office or come by and we can help you get a copy of your title... for $14.
