Congratulations to Captain/AEMT Deanna Clift and Firefighter/Paramedic Bethany Oglesby on their graduation from the Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) training. This is a 40 hour program from the McNabb Center that trains first responders from all agencies on improving safety, compassion and support for individuals facing mental health challenges.

Today, our Haz Mat team completed annual training as part of our ongoing commitment to safety, preparedness, and operational excellence.
HazMat responses require specialized knowledge, skills, and certification above the firefighter training, to effectively identify, assess and mitigate a hazardous materials incident. Maintaining a certified team is not only essential for compliance - it ensures we are ready to respond when called upon. We are proud of the dedication our team members demonstrate in maintaining their certifications, sharpening their skills, and keeping up the highest response standards of readiness to protect our community.

At Rural Metro Fire, our commitment goes beyond fighting fires - we train for every possible emergency that may arise. Today, our Squad crews in the North Battalion, sharpened their rope rescue skills, ensuring they are prepared to safely and efficiently rescue individuals from trees, and other elevated locations.
These rescue skills require precision, teamwork, and constant practice to stay proficient. Whether its high above the ground or in hard to reach places, our crews are ready to respond when you need us the most.
💪 Dedicated, Prepared, Ready!

Thank you Mayor Jacobs and Knox County Commission for recognizing the many GREAT First Responders and EMS workers serving in Knox County everyday. This is EMS week and it takes all of our First Responders and Ambulance EMTs and Paramedics to make our EMS system work efficiently. We always encourage drivers to take extra care when driving in rain conditions where there could be standing water. Today, our crew in Farragut responded to a single vehicle car crash that was clearly impacted by the rain and slick conditions. Luckily, no one was injured but we were on the scene for a while helping the wrecker to get the car back onto the roadway.
Please be careful this weekend as these pop up storms continue. Stay alert!
