I always like to verify. It was easy to verify the 8 speeding tickets on mycase and yes they were all local ordinance violations or infractions like the opponent says but it was actually 9 speeding tickets because he got one in Virginia in 2023 case # GT23007220-00. 61/45. Arlington District Court. That’s not 16 yrs ago. However, case # 29D06-0705-CM-002260 is somehow not on mycase. This is Hamilton Superior 6. It’s actually 2 counts, criminal recklessness and criminal mischief both misdemeanors from 2007. It may be a long time ago but don’t say it didn’t happen. Where are those records ??

Republican candidate for Indiana Secretary of State Max Engling today demanded that Beau Bayh withdraw his latest attack ad and correct its false claim about Engling’s driving record, or face a lawsuit.

Max Engling has never been charged with or convicted of reckless driving. Yet Bayh’s advertisement features a police officer claiming Engling has been convicted of that offense eight times, which is libelous.

Per EPA, Indiana ranks highest in polluted air and waterways. Per the American Lung Association we have over 674,000 children breathing toxic air. Indiana is a factory friendly state and has been for decades. Indiana is home to over 50 superfund sites. Kokomo has two and many more active plumes being monitored. Big corporations lie. GM opened a plant in Canada in the 1950’s and contaminated the St. Lawrence River. GM denied any wrong doing while offering the towns bottled water. Kokomo is no different. Our big three here have been polluting our community for years. The new battery plant suppliers started early on not following environmental rules. Examples of label switching, unmarked drums of chemicals, hoses ran outside dumping chemicals from machines.
Heads turned because of expected big returns on promised jobs and property tax revenue. Now a Data Center whose reps don’t have answers for questions from concerned citizens who’ve done their homework about water usage, waste disposal etc. We have no extra water resources not even for a closed loop system and our wastewater treatment plant is busting at the seams, already being cited multiple times for exceeding their discharge flow.
Yet here we are tonight, having a second reading on rezoning 390 acres of farmland to high industrial. A council minus one who will all vote yes to avoid confrontation from those who made the deal. An LLC, Whitmore and Blackwell asking for this rezoning. As someone who’s spent 20 yrs in healthcare, this is the part that really bothers me. The person behind Whitmore and Blackwell is a physician in Indiana who has taken the sacred oath to “First do no Harm.”

I encourage you to read this article then read it again. Corruption, lack of accountability and transparency have become such a way of business in Kokomo that the Mayor is talking about the undocumented workers in town at the hotel and housing projects instead of using union workers is saving money and better for the economy so he’s been told. Take note that he was notified of this at the beginning of 2026 as well as the Kokomo Common Council by the Carpenters Union. So do tell, who approved these contractors for these projects that allegedly use undocumented workers and pay them under the table ??

Today is a day I’m reminded why I do what I do !
Happy Heavenly Mother’s Day to my Mom!
She lost her life at age 36 to an aggressive breast cancer caused from exposure to trichloroethylene. She was one of 12 women in 1974, under the age of 40 in plant 8 at Delco/GM Kokomo that died from this.
I am her voice and the voice for all the other victims of corporate greed, backroom deals, lack of transparency and accountability among our elected officials. This contamination has spread beyond the factories and affects our communities and neighborhoods in the form of unremediated plumes and contamination. Industrial growth in a town that continues the practice of allowing corporate greed to continue to dominate and contaminate us by looking the other way, will get a big, loud NO vote from me. Don’t ever underestimate my voice as one person or my ability to expose those who participate and support this. No one should ever have to honor their mother this way for these reasons !
