Itโs week 4 yโall! Before we know it, itโll be Spring Quarter. Take time to reflect on all youโve overcome so far this year, and any goals you may have for the remainder (even if itโs just to wear real pants once in a while). Reflection is a powerful but often neglected tool we have for exercising self-care and resisting burnout. It helps us to recharge, reduce stress and make better decisions.
So go ahead and watch the rain while you drink your morning cuppa today. If thatโs not your thing, make time to meditate or move. Complete a journal entry instead if youโd rather. What are your favorite ways to reflect?

The Regional Stay Home Order, announced December 3, will go into effect within 48 hours in regions with less than 15% ICU availability. It prohibits private gatherings of any size, closes sector operations except for critical infrastructure and retail, and requires 100% masking and physical distancing in all others.
The order will remain in effect for at least 3 weeks and, after that period, will be lifted when a regionโs projected ICU capacity meets or exceeds 15%. This will be assessed on a weekly basis after the initial 3 week period.
For a list of the applicable regions, or to learn more about this order, please visit covid19.ca.gov or https://covid19.ca.gov/stay-home-except-for-essential-needs/.

Thanks to a county-approved pilot program, students may now gather in groups of up to 3 - regardless of household - so long as:
-Gatherings last less than 2 hours,
-Facial coverings are worn at all times, except when actively eating, and
-6' social distance is maintained the entire time.
Students are encouraged to avoid high congestion areas, complete the Student Symptom and Exposure Screening tool prior to gathering and receive a green thumb, and keep track of who they are socializing with for contact tracing purposes should it become necessary.
This pilot program does not change the restrictions on guests or University events, so socializing indoors, in-between residences, or as part of any organized event or program is still prohibited.
To review the most up to date COVID-19 related policies and procedure applying to students, please visit studentconduct.ucsd.edu and returntolearn.ucsd.edu.

Last night, the university was made aware of an Instagram account posting hateful, racist content. We firmly denounce what was shared on this account that claimed affiliation with UC San Diego, and condemn all forms of racism and hate. We understand a similar account posted, claiming affiliation with another university. The Office for the Prevention of Harassment and Discrimination (OPHD) is working with our Chief Information Security Officer to investigate the incident.
If anyone has information about the creator of this account, please contact our Office for the Prevention of Harassment and Discrimination at [email protected]. If found that UC San Diego community members are involved, they will be held accountable. UC San Diego stands with our Black community members and firmly against all forms of racism and hate.
We encourage our community to actively counter racist speech and to be an ally and advocate to any group that is harmed, by upholding UC San Diego's Principles of Community and our commitment to each other as Tritons.

Californians must wear face masks in public under coronavirus order issued by Newsom
The Newsom administration is requiring Californians wear face coverings but hasn't addressed how the new rule will be enforced.
