La Jolla Lutheran Art Exhibit

Art Basel in Switzerland is probably the most celebrated show of contemporary art in the world. This year it runs June 13-19. On June 20 we will look at highlights from this year’s show as well as highlights from Liste and other satellite fairs in Basel.

We meet June 20 at 7 p.m. at La Jolla Lutheran Church, 7111 La Jolla Blvd, in La Jolla. Hope you can make it!

On May 23 at 7 pm our topic is Art Forgery and Art Frauds. Looking forward to it!

On Monday, April 18, Mark Dahle will reveal "What Makes Art Valuable." Mark contends it's not the subject, the technique or even the artist's signature. The talk will include several examples of the current (astronomical!) prices of some pieces of contemporary and modern art. This informative and interesting talk will be followed by a group discussion.

Artists are invited to bring a sample of their current work to display at the beginning and end of the event. April 18, 7 to 8 p.m., 7111 La Jolla Blvd in La Jolla.

We're going to have a great time seeing the best-selling artists from around the world, represented by the top galleries in America, Europe, and other parts of the globe.

This month we're looking at highlights from Art Week in Miami, including Art Basel Miami Beach, 15 satellite art fairs, museum shows, private collections, pop-up art events and street art. Thousands of artists are presented at Art Week by hundreds of art galleries. And you can see highlights of it all in about an hour.

Come see highlights from 14 art fairs held during New York’s Armory Week two weeks ago. Each of the art fairs represented 50 to 250 galleries from around the world, a huge cross-sample of art being sold today.
