Alzheimer Awareness month - Start a conversation now and plan ahead.
Lakeland Senior Hub

September is World Alzheimer’s month. A dementia diagnosis can bring uncertainty, but planning early can help families feel more prepared for what lies ahead.

Important conversations can include:
• Who will help make decisions?
• What are the person’s wishes for future care?
• Where would they feel most comfortable living?
• How will healthcare and medications be managed?
• What resources and support will the family need?

Planning ahead allows the person living with dementia to have a voice in their future, and gives families a peace of mind when difficult decisions arise.

The best time to plan is before a crisis.💜
