🎉🐾 Happy 3rd Birthday to Roscoe! 🐾🎂💚

Today we’re celebrating THREE years of tail wags, slobbery kisses, endless belly rubs, and a whole lot of love! 🥳🐶

It’s hard to believe this goofy, lovable Labrador is already 3! Over the past year, Roscoe has grown into so much more than just a family pet. He’s become a source of comfort, smiles, and support for so many people through his work as a Crisis K9. 💚🐾

Whether he’s helping someone through a difficult day, bringing smiles to hospital staff, supporting our first responders, or simply making a new friend, Roscoe has a special way of making the world a little brighter.

Of course, when he’s off duty, he’s still the same goofy Lab who loves his treats, toys, belly rubs, and a good nap! 😂🦴

I’m incredibly proud of the dog he’s become and grateful for all the people who have welcomed him, supported his journey, and shown him so much love along the way.

Today, the only crisis Roscoe will be responding to is an empty treat bowl! 🎂🤣 (jk he has been given an array of treats so far for his special day!)

Happy 3rd Birthday, buddy! Here’s to many more adventures, wagging tails, and lives touched along the way! 💚🐾

🐾💚 Working Together for Our Communities 💚🐾

This past Thursday, Roscoe and I had the opportunity to represent Hocking Valley Community Hospital at the Mind Matters Wellness Event in Lancaster! Sharing about our Outpatient Psychiatry Clinic and our crisis care within our Emergency Department.

It was a great day connecting with organizations and individuals who all share a common goal—supporting the health, wellness, and needs of the communities we serve.

Community support works best when we work together. Hospitals, first responders, mental health providers, social service agencies, and community organizations each bring different resources to the table, and strong partnerships help connect people with the right support when they need it.

One resource we want to help spread the word about is 2-1-1. Fairfield County 2-1-1 services have expanded to serve Hocking County residents, providing 24/7 information and referral assistance for resources including food, housing, utilities, healthcare, mental health, senior services, and more. Simply dial 2-1-1 to get connected. 📞

Roscoe, of course, did his part by providing plenty of tail wags, visits, and a few smiles along the way. 🦮🐾

We were proud to represent HVCH and spend the evening alongside so many community partners working collaboratively to make sure our neighbors know that help and resources are available. 💚

Today is 9/25 Day, so we’re paying tribute to the one and only Dolly Parton! 💚🩷🎶

What a way to make a livin’!
Getting pets all day,
And the treats better keep on givin’! 🦴

Walkin’ down the halls,
Making everybody happy,
Then I find my mat,
’Cause this job can make me nappy! 😴

🦮 Crisis/Therapy support: 9:02
🦴 Treat break: 9:07
😴 Mandated nap: 9:15
🐾 Repeat until 5:00

Roscoe says Dolly had the right idea about this whole working thing… he just thinks she seriously underestimated the number of dog naps required to make it through a shift. 😂

Happy 9/25 Day to the queen herself, Dolly Parton! 💛🎶🐾 Thanks for giving us the perfect soundtrack for getting through the workday, Dolly!

Now, if you’ll excuse Roscoe, he’s taking a day off after working 9 to 5 and 5 to 9 yesterday! 🐾😴😂

😂🍩 Apparently it’s National Cream-Filled Donut Day!

I heard there were donuts in the hospital, so naturally I had to stop by and investigate. 🐾

I looked. 👀
I sniffed. 👃
I waited patiently for one to “accidentally” hit the floor…

Nothing. Not even a crumb. 😒

Dad says we “did not partake.” And wouldn’t even let me in the room with them. I say I was denied the opportunity. 😂

🐾 Happy National Dog Day🐾

National Dog Day celebrates the comfort, companionship, and hope dogs bring into our lives and promotes adoption and the welfare of dogs in need.

Roscoe was adopted into his handler’s family, where he quickly became more than a beloved pet. His presence inspired a mission to help people through difficult moments.

Roscoe may not understand National Dog Day, but he knows his job: show up, bring comfort, and be there when people need him most. 💚

Whether he’s supporting frontline hospital staff, spending time with patients, visiting first responders, or just hanging out with the crew at the firehouse, Roscoe has a special way of reminding us that sometimes the best support comes with four paws and a wagging tail.
